There were 43 deaths related to COVID-19 in Italy over the last 24 hours, with 329 new positive cases, but 17 out of 21 regions have five or fewer additional patients.

The numbers remain relatively stable, with Lombardy the massive outlier skewing the rest of the statistics.

Out of 329 new positive results, 242 of those were in the Lombardy region, with 41 in Piedmont, 14 in Emilia-Romagna and 10 in Lazio.

All the others registered five or fewer new cases, meaning the pandemic has practically been eradicated in those areas.

The death toll grew by 43 to a total 34,448, of which 16,480 were in Lombardy.

The next region in terms of deaths is Emilia-Romagna with 4,215.

As for the other figures, there are now only 163 people remaining in intensive care (-14), 3,113 in hospital (-188), and 20,649 self-isolating at home with minor symptoms.

The overall number of current active cases fell by 644 to 179,455.
