Now The Athletic report in their exclusive that Pedro is worried he might pick up an injury or otherwise create some tension with Chelsea, so has asked not to play for them again this term.

The usual dates for free agents no longer apply, as his contract expires on June 30, but the Premier League season resumes this evening and will run through July.

There is no official extension on contracts for free agents, so they have to be negotiated directly between the player and the two clubs involved.

According to The Athletic, Pedro is unwilling to play for Chelsea beyond June 30 and would rather his career with the club ended here.
