There were another 60 coronavirus deaths in Italy on Monday but only 178 more cases – the lowest daily increase for four months.

The figure of 178 new positive tests is the smallest recorded since February 26, while six regions – Marche, Sicilia, Umbria, Molise, Calabria and Basilicata – recorded no deaths in the last 24 hours. 

As of Monday, there have been 233,917 positive tests of COVID-19 (+178), with 41,367 of them currently active (-1,616).

A total of 158,355 people have recovered (+848) and 33,475 have died.

Out of the 41,367 active cases, 34,844 are in self-isolation (-409), 6,099 are in hospital with symptoms (-288) and 424 are in intensive care (-11).

There have now been 3,910,133 tests, an increase of 31,394 since yesterday.
