The Beneamata have spent the summer remodelling themselves after finishing last term in a lowly sixth-place.

“Our objective is to win the Scudetto and we want to improve game after game in order to achieve this objective,” the Brazilian told Sky Sport Italia.

Coutinho returned to San Siro this summer after a successful loan stint at Espanyol last term, but the arrival of Antonio Cassano from Milan has cast doubts about his use.

“Nothing has changed for me with Cassano here,” he added. “He is a champion, like a lot of the players at this club.

“I’m just looking to do the best I can and to keep improving.”

Coutinho came on as a second half substitute against Pescara last night, for Cassano, and scored in the 3-0 win.
