Crystal Palace coach Patrick Vieira thinks that unneeded Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey could shine again in the Premier League, so could the Welshman be on his way to South London?

The 31-year-old Welsh midfielder has hardly featured this season for the Bianconeri, playing only 112 minutes all season after struggles with various muscle injuries. He seems destined to leave the Turin club in this month’s transfer window, although his large salary is proving to be a significant obstacle.

Speaking to gathered reporters in a press conference earlier today, Vieira discussed Ramsey and his situation, saying: “With the president and the sporting director we always talk about how we can improve the team, if there will be a possible purchase then we will think about it, but at the moment we are happy as we are.

“When you look at Ramsey’s pedigree and experience, I think he could improve many teams in the Premier League.”

Juventus are in a tough position regarding Ramsey; the 31-year-old Welshman, who is contracted to the Bianconeri until 2023, earns €7m net per season, a huge salary that is unlikely to be matched by any interested parties.

The Turin side are still desperate to lighten their wage bill, but the two parties will not mutually terminate the contract, with the former Arsenal man not willing to lose out on his salary. He is not happy with the situation in Turin and is not on good terms with coach Massimiliano Allegri.

The Bianconeri are hoping to move Ramsey on in this month’s transfer window, either on loan or a permanent sale, and he’s ready to leave Turin should the right club come calling. Only time will tell whether or not that club is Crystal Palace.
