Fiorentina general manager Pantaleo Corvino has confirmed Nikola Kalinic’s €50m release clause and that Paulo Sousa’s future will be decided “by April”.

Sousa’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season, amidst speculation that the Coach and Fiorentina will part ways, while Kalinic reportedly remains on Napoli’s radar, with the January transfer window a fortnight away from opening.

“Kalinic’s €50m clause? We decided to insert it after an agreement with his agent,” Corvino told Zona 11 pm, to be aired on Rai Sport 1 this evening.

“It’s a figure that we’re both happy with. Will he stay in January? That’s our intention.

“Sousa? We’ll talk by April. Who will be the next captain? I hope it’s Gonzalo Rodriguez.”
