“It’s a positive result for the attitude of the team and considering the difficulties that we had to deal with. We didn’t hold back, we had our heads held high, as always,” Correa told Lazio Style Radio.
“Nobody can say we didn’t give it our all after everything that happened this week. We’re happy with this point.”
Lazio made the trip to Belgium without 12 senior players, forced to revamp and pad out the squad with youth team players, as UEFA COVID tests found several positive cases.
“All those who remained at home encouraged us with calls and messages, so this is a strong and united group,” revealed Tucu.
“We are all together, just as we needed to be, and with the coach’s ideas we can be protagonists. We never lost the desire to win or our character.
“This means we are still top of the group, but there are two difficult away fixtures coming up including Serie A, so we need to keep pushing.”
