Milan have confirmed that Andrea Conti will undergo a new operation tomorrow, after doctors detected instability in his knee.

The full-back ruptured his cruciate ligament in September, and injured the same knee in training last month.

Initially it was thought he had suffered only a sprain, but reports emerged last night that the Italian international would have to go under the knife again.

Initially it was thought he had suffered only a sprain, but reports emerged last night that the Italian international would have to go under the knife again.

“Following Andrea Conti's left knee recent sprained trauma, AC Milan medical staff considered the clinical findings with professor Freddie Fu and professor Pier Paolo Mariani,” a statement on the Rossoneri’s website announced.

“The unanimous diagnosis is that of a residual rotational instability of the operated knee that can be fixed through a new surgery that will be carried out tomorrow by professor Mariani at the Villa Stuart Clinic in Rome.”
