Italy CT Antonio Conte insists ‘I never considered the idea of leaving’ but admits he’s had ‘difficult moments’.
The former Juventus Coach took over the Azzurri job this summer, but has been the subject of resignation rumours almost from day one.
However, speaking ahead of tomorrow’s friendly with Portugal, Conte is adamant he never thought of walking away.
“I never considered the idea of leaving,” the former midfielder said in a Press conference.

“I never considered the idea of leaving,” the former midfielder said in a Press conference.
“I always expect clarity, and some have dared to predict my actions. Although there have been difficult moments, I’ve never thought about leaving.
“I made a commitment to Italy, and Italians.”
Conte also professed his desire to impart the correct ‘mentality’ to his Italy side.
“The national team must have passion, enthusiasm and sacrifice in its DNA. We have to work if you want to get results.
“Sometimes you have more time, sometimes less. But we’ll make the most of what we have available, with an opportunity to try different solutions and shapes.
“I try to work hard on the players’ heads, I want the team to acquire the right mentality.”
