The coach’s comments in the wake of the 3-2 Europa League Final defeat to Sevilla showed nothing has changed since his furious outburst after the closing Serie A match of the season.

Conte is still angry at the directors for a variety of reasons, ranging from transfer strategy to their vision on how to run the club to media leaks.

A crunch meeting is planned for Tuesday and multiple sources in Italy insist the most likely outcome is a termination of the contract by mutual consent.

Inter won’t fire Conte, because that would mean having to continue paying his massive €10m per season salary for another two years, and they are already still paying Luciano Spalletti, who was sacked last summer.

If he does not resign, then they will have to negotiate an exit strategy, with the coach expected to want a golden handshake to walk away.

All sources also point to only one option to replace Conte and that is former Juventus boss Allegri, who already took over three days into pre-season training at Juve in 2014.

FCInterNews and Sportitalia maintain the contract offered to Allegri will be a two-year deal worth €8m per season plus bonuses, which is more or less what he received at Juve.
