Chelsea manager Antonio Conte believes Mohamed Salah improved due to his spell in Italy with Fiorentina and Roma.

The Egyptian has been in sensational form this season, and the Blues loaned him to the Viola in exchange for Juan Cuadrado, before selling him outright to the Giallorossi.

“It’s not so simple,” Conte replied, when asked in his pre-Swansea Press conference if that was a mistake.

“I think that we have to compare Salah of four five years ago, and not with this Salah. I think Salah in the present has improved a lot and he developed a lot.

“I think the experience in Italy was very important for him, and now I’m sure that he’s a different player compared to the past.

“For that reason I think it’s very difficult to make this comparison.”
