Reports in England suggest Italy CT Antonio Conte is the prime candidate for the Chelsea job.

The Blues sacked Jose Mourinho earlier this season, with Guus Hiddink placed in charge until the end of the season.

According to the Daily Mail, Conte is willing to leave his post with the Azzurri after the European Championships, and held talks with the Stamford Bridge club before Christmas.

The newspaper reports that the former Juventus Coach has made it clear to the FIGC that he wants to return to club management, and will meet with Chelsea again before the end of the season.

Conte has form for turning around struggling sides, having taken over the Bianconeri in 2011 after two seventh-place finishes.

The former midfielder immediately won the Scudetto, with his side finishing the season unbeaten, guiding the Turin giants to a further two Scudetti.

His final season with the Old Lady saw them set a record points total, taking 102 points by winning 33 of their 38 games, including emerging victorious from every match at Juventus Stadium.
