The Azzurri were held 2-2 by Bulgaria in a Euro 2016 qualifier on Saturday evening and will host Roy Hodgson’s men at the Juventus Stadium in Turin on Tuesday.

“This qualifier was the most important game with precious points up for grabs,” said the Coach in a Press conference.

“I am satisfied with the performance, though not the result, as we had hoped to win.

“On Tuesday it’ll be a prestigious friendly, so we’ll test out some players who I have called up.

“It’s a big international game, but above all I need it to verify whether those I called up have the right to be in this group.”

Among the new faces expected to get their debuts are Palermo’s Franco Vazquez and Empoli midfielder Mirko Valdifiori.

Sampdoria forward Eder made his Italy bow against Bulgaria and scored a sensational late curler to secure the 2-2 draw.

The pressure may well also be on Alessio Cerci, Graziano Pellè, Marco Parolo and Emiliano Moretti to prove themselves at this level.
