Antonio Conte has voiced his delight at seeing Coaches in Serie A agree to hold round-table meetings throughout the season.

Stefano Pioli and Massimiliano Allegri today both used their pre-match Press conferences to express their approval with the CT's desire for more get-togethers, and the Italy boss believes his plans can only benefit the country’s football.

“It's what I wanted, these meetings will form part of my work agenda,” Conte is quoted by the Italian Football Federation on their official website.

“It's vital. I accepted the words of Allegri and Pioli's during today's Press conferences with pleasure.

“This was anticipated as one of the early issues that I had flagged up after three intense months, in which we held six matches between qualifying and friendlies.

“I spoke with the FIGC to schedule a series of technical meetings, and my idea was to meet with the Coaches in Serie A, Serie B, Lega Pro and those in charge of the professional clubs' youth sectors, together with the Coaches in the National Amateur League.

“We are now ready, and I hope that on behalf of all the Federal members, there is a union in this sense.

“After the President of Serie A's words and the technical panel suggested by Claudio Lotito yesterday in the Federal Council, it's important to schedule these discussions so we can work towards a common goal: the growth of Italian football.

“In this regard, if we want to increase our international competitiveness, I believe it is essential to discuss our coaching methods.”
