Winning the Europa Conference League gives Jose Mourinho’s Roma much more flexibility in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Giallorossi took part in an exciting 1-1 draw with Leicester City in the first leg of their semi-final tie yesterday, setting up an electric return leg at the Stadio Olimpico next week. The winner will face the victor of Olympique Marseille-Feyenoord; the Dutch side won the first leg 3-2.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Mourinho and Thiago Pinto want at least four new top players to arrive in the summer. Current ideas include Manchester United duo Diogo Dalot and Erick Bailly.

Other options for the Giallorossi include Lille’s Xeka, Nemanja Matic and and Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz. A Conference League victory would give Roma around €25 million more to invest in the summer, giving them a good foundation ahead of next season.

The second leg of Roma’s semi-final clash against Leicester City will kick off at 20:00 UK time on May 5 at the Stadio Olimpico.

  1. Not true.
IF Roma gets to the final, they’ll pocket “only” 5 mil € more. IF they lose the final, they’ll get 3 mil € more.
