Liverpool are reportedly keen to sign Mario Balotelli to a number of ‘good conduct’ clauses as part of his deal to join from Milan.

The 24-year-old is expected to complete a move to the Premier League side over the course of the next couple of days, following fast negotiations between the Reds and Rossoneri on a reported €20m deal.

However, The Guardian is running the line that the forward’s prospective new manager Brendan Rodgers is keen to protect Liverpool from the player’s sometimes erratic behaviour away from the pitch.

Balotelli’s previous stint in England was matched with continued attention from tabloid media on what he did when not playing football.

It is understood that to try to ensure against a repeat scenario this time around, Liverpool’s contract offer will include clauses based on conduct and behaviour ‘that exceed standard practice’.

Agreement to these terms is even seen as a deal-breaker for Liverpool and Rodgers.
