Serie B side Como have joked about a potential move for Leo Messi who, on paper, is available as a free agent.

Messi’s contract with Barcelona expired yesterday and although he is expected to sign a new deal with the La Liga giants, the Argentinean star has yet not signed his new agreement, meaning he is without a club since midnight.

Former Como President Enrico Preziosi once revealed Messi had a trial with the club before joining Barcelona’s academy, but, for some reason, ‘La Pulga’ was snubbed.

Como joked on Instagram about potentially signing Messi as a free agent.

They published the fake screen of a Whatsapp chat with the Argentinean, asking him: ‘Hello Leo how are you? It’s been a while…what if we catch up one of these days?”

The caption reads: ‘Hold on, he’s seen the message and he is writing…’ and the hashtag is #tornaacasaleo, which translates into #ComebackhomeLeo.

Unfortunately for Como, the 34-year-old seems set to continue with Barcelona for a few seasons.
