Fiorentina President Rocco Commisso blames Atalanta fans who targeted Dusan Vlahovic with racist abuse during Saturday’s Serie A match.

The Serbian striker netted a brace from the spot against La Dea, but a group of Atalanta fans insulted the young striker shouting racist remarks. According to reports in Italy, Vlahovic was called ‘gypsy’ while waiting to take a penalty.

“The Percassi family is very good, very good people, but they have to look at what the fans here do and what they say,” Commisso said.

“Two years ago, they targeted Dalbert, this time they shouted gypsy to Dusan while he was doing an interview, they [Atalanta fans] should be ashamed of themselves.

“It is not right to offend players because we have never done it.

“Florentines don’t do these things. There were many fans in Bergamo and we need them,” the Tuscans’ president concluded.

  1. Hey Rocco … every time your team plays Juve they put up banners commemorating the death of 39 Juve fans at Heysel.

  2. Err when I attended Fiorentina Napoli a few years back – Sarri and Higuain era – some Fiorentina fans made monkey noises at Koulibaly when he committed a foul.

    Wasn’t even the ultras.

  3. I am a Fiorentina fan my self and I know first hand it shouts the same thing from curva Fiesole att Ibrahimovic for an example.
If I where vlahovic I’d be pleased it means he made it and are considered one of the absolute most dangerous opponents in the league.
