Former Parma boss Franco Colomba has added his support to the work Luis Enrique is undertaking at Roma this season.
The Spanish Coach arrived from Barcelona B last summer and, along with the change in ownership and half the playing squad, has gradually changed Roma’s style of play through 2011-12.
“I have respect for people who try to innovate in football,” told Colomba to Radio IES.

“I have respect for people who try to innovate in football,” told Colomba to Radio IES.
“Even though I think Nils Liedholm left an imprint in this way, since he took great care of ball possession and fast counter-attacks.
“Under Luis Enrique, there is a great frenzy to win the ball back, as indeed there is at Barcelona, so he is to be respected.
“[Introducing new ideas] is usually difficult, but much depends on the players you have. There is also the need to support the Coach in difficult times, as Roma have done.”
Colomba also briefly reflected on his recent dismissal at Parma, when after a little under a year in charge at the Ennio Tardini, he was sacked in January.
“Even though I had the results that usually determine sacking a Coach, I can safely say that this was not the case with me.
“But, we live in atypical times in football, so we must accept it, we go forward because now it is a part of my past.”
