Unicredit say that talks with Chinese investors over their share in Roma are not over, whilst links to Inter are inaccurate.

The Italian bank still hold 30 per cent shares in the Giallorossi’s holding company NEEP Roma Holding and were seen as in talks over a potential sale to Chinese investors, led by prominent businessman Chen Feng.

The Italian bank still hold 30 per cent shares in the Giallorossi’s holding company NEEP Roma Holding and were seen as in talks over a potential sale to Chinese investors, led by prominent businessman Chen Feng.

Whilst this trail appears to have gone cold, the bank insists nothing is over yet.

“As I understand it, it has not been shelved, but it is not for us to decide whether to go forward or not,” Unicredit CEO Federico Ghizzoni has commented this week to reporters.

“I have left it to the two parties involved. We are not in a rush.”

Unicredit were rumoured recently to be prepared to loan Erick Thohir between €200m and €300m to help finance his plans at Inter, but Ghizzoni has denied this.

“We do not fund football clubs unless for specific issues such as advances on television rights and we have not changed our policy.

“There are no discussions at play over Inter and their President. The issue has not arrived on my desk.”
