Juventus and Italy icon Marcello Lippi admits it is ‘likely’ he will retire from coaching once his contract with China expires early next year.

Lippi has spent the last two years in charge of the Chinese national team, but the 70-year-old expects to leave management behind after the Asian Cup in January.

“I want to go home,” he told Radio Anch’io Sport.

“I have a contract that expires on January 31, at the end of the Asian Cup.

“We’ll see after that, but I think it’ll be my last experience. Am I likely to leave China in February? Yes.”

Lippi is best known for leading Juventus to five Scudetti and their last Champions League in 1996, as well as guiding Italy to glory at the 2006 World Cup.
