Giorgio Chiellini will move above Giampiero Boniperti in the all-time Juventus appearance list if he plays against Tottenham Hotspur tonight.

The centre-back has played 459 competitive matches for the Bianconeri, exactly the same number as the former striker.

Assuming that Chiellini starts, as is expected, he will be along in seventh position on the all-time appearance list.

Alessandro Del Piero leads the way on 705, with Gianluigi Buffon behind him on 641.

From there it’s a big gap back to Gaetano Scirea on 552 and Beppe Furino on 528.

The next target in Chiellini’s sights is Dino Zoff, the legendary goalkeeper who made 476 appearances for the Old Lady.

Chiello’s contract is up at the end of the season, but it’s not expected there will be any problem for a renewal and at the age of 33 he should be able to catch Zoff, if not Del Piero and Buffon.
