Giorgio Chiellini is recovering quickly and “optimistic” for Euro 2012, revealed the Italy and Juventus star’s brother.

The defender limped off during the final game of the Serie A season with a first degree thigh strain, which is expected to keep him out of action for three weeks.

“Giorgio is doing well,” Claudio Chiellini told Calciomercato.it.

“He is already hard at work at the Coverciano ground and can’t wait to get back on the field. He is disappointed to be missing out on the Coppa Italia Final, but we are optimistic for the Euros.”

Chiellini’s sibling was also asked about reports of interest from Manchester City.

“I don’t think there’s any need to comment on certain rumours that emerge at this time of year to fill up the newspapers.”
