Federico Chiesa’s early goal and a stoppage-time Aaron Ramsey counter-attack sealed the 2-0 result at Marassi.

“I said before the game that the important thing was to show consistency and desire to win every match,” Chiellini told Sky Sport Italia.

“It was a tough match, a Juve performance, although one we should’ve killed off earlier. I think we’ve improved a lot in January and taken home largely all the results.”

The captain isn’t wrong, as apart from the 2-0 defeat to Inter, they have won eight games, including the Italian Supercoppa.

“The next three weeks are going to be jam-packed, we’ll play every three days, but we are ready and eager to get into it.

“Everyone is on the same wavelength and if we continue like this, we can achieve great things together.”

Juventus now face Inter in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final on Tuesday.

“The Coppa Italia is a separate tournament, a knockout round, whereas Serie A is more like a cycling race where you have lots of stages. We just have to keep going.”
