Giorgio Chiellini confirms he won’t retire and could move to the MLS.

The Juventus and Italy captain has left the Bianconeri despite having one year left in his contract and will retire from international football on Wednesday after Italy’s game against Argentina at Wembley Stadium.

He has been linked with a move to the MLS, where  Los Angeles FC and the Vancouver Whitecaps are interested in securing his services.

“I’ve received a lot from Juventus, but I’d like to experience something lighter, even in private life,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper when asked whether he plans to move to the MLS.

“Being a director is very demanding, and one must learn and be prepared. Turin is our home and we’ll surely return here.”

Chiellini could return to Juventus after the end of his playing career, joining the control room with another club legend such as Pavel Nedved.

His brother Claudio was a Juventus director and is the current sporting director of Serie B side Pisa who reached the play-off final but lost to Silvio Berlusconi’s Monza.

Chiellini, 37, has played 561 games at Juventus, scoring 36 goals. He is the only player to have won all the nine consecutive Serie A titles with the Bianconeri. He also captained Italy to win Euro 2020 last year.

  1. what a player he has been, remember his first italy game against Finland all them years ago back in 2004 and i was impressed with him even then, Grazie Chiellini

  2. Chiellini must return to Juve one day after he finished his playing career
He is so smart so can overtake all the recent Juve directors and of course bring revolution in this team that’s really needed
