However, on from tests on the injury which revealed that it was only inflammation of the muscle, Chiellini has revealed his intention to be back to first team duties soon.

“The calf is better. Luckily it was not a serious injury and I will try to recover as soon as possible because we have a lot of games in the coming weeks,” the 29-year-old told fans this morning through a Google Hangout conducted with his club.

Chiellini recently reached 300 appearances for the Bianconeri.

“The history of Juventus has a special charm and to play over 300 games with this shirt is something unique, indescribable.

“The stadium? It is certainly a thrill. We can hear the fans particularly during the warm-up, because during the game you are completely focused and you cannot enjoy the spectacle of the fans then.

“You cannot take it as scientific fact, but we saw in the first year – our stadium does make a difference, because it scares whoever we have to deal with.
