Chelsea have reportedly set their sights on Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana as they look to replace Edouard Mendy.

The 31-year-old Senegalese shot stopper shined in his first two seasons with the Blues, playing a key role in their Champions League success in his debut campaign. Unfortunately, this season he’s fallen down the hierarchies at Chelsea, mostly being left on the bench following the re-emergence of Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Onana joined Inter on a free transfer last summer, being brought in to be the long-term replacement for the aging Samir Handanovic. He’s quickly proven himself a safe pair of hands for the Nerazzurri and has taken over the title of the number one at the club.

As detailed by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Chelsea have been closely following Onana this season and are considering making a move for the Inter goalkeeper in the summer.

Should the Blues be willing to pay €40m, the Nerazzurri would be unable to turn them down, as it would represent a huge capital gain considering his arrival on a free transfer last year.

Chelsea could also look to include Romelu Lukaku and Trevoh Chalobah in a possible deal.

Possible replacements for Onana in Lombardy include Empoli’s Guglielmo Vicario and Cremonese’s Marco Carnesecchi.
