The Morocco international has long been linked with a move away from Stadio Olimpico this summer, with Manchester City thought to be his favoured destination.
However, following Manuel Pellegrini’s side’s decision to buy Eliaquim Mangala from Porto, it seems that move is off.
As such, several outlets in Italy, including Gazzetta dello Sport, suggest that Jose Mourinho’s side will now swoop in and try to land the centre-back.
The Premier League outfit believe that €37.5m could land Benatia, however, that could be some way off the Giallorossi’s estimations.
Rudi Garcia’s men are desperate to keep Benatia, but have admitted in the past that a big offer would have to be accepted.
