Inter midfielder Matias Vecino is a prime target for Chelsea once Maurizio Sarri takes over, according to Italian reports.

Mediaset Premium claim the Uruguay international is the first choice for the middle of the park at Stamford Bridge next season.

Sarri has been in negotiations with Chelsea for weeks, but the situation was stalled by the presence of two complex contracts.

Not only does Sarri have to be bought out of his contract with Napoli, but Antonio Conte and his staff require approximately €11m to terminate their deals a year early too.

Vecino isn’t the only Inter man who could end up at Chelsea, because Sarri is due to be reunited with his old assistant manager Giovanni Martusciello.

They had worked together at Empoli, but Martusciello was this season the assistant to Luciano Spalletti on the Inter bench.
