The Colombia international has been heavily linked with a switch to west London this month. “[Nainggolan] isn’t an objective we missed out on because we never pursued him,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“This morning I believed he was heading to Napoli, now he seems to be going to Roma. There is no dissapointment, since we didn’t think we could acquire him.

“Guarin is however an Inter player and we are happy to keep him. There was a contact with Chelsea, and that makes us proud since he is an important player. They have the okay to speak to the player’s agent, but should he remain we would be happy.

“We have no desire to sell him, he is an important player and he is proving it. We aren’t looking for anything, since it’s also true that Milto and Icardi are coming back and the offensive area is complete.”
