There are reports Roma rejected a £26m offer from Chelsea for defender Kostas Manolas.

According to The Sun, the Stamford Bridge side set their sights firmly on the 24-year-old Greek international.

It is claimed Chelsea offered £26m, but were told that Roma would only consider a sale for closer to £35m.

Manolas was probably suggested by Antonio Conte, who is all set to take over the Blues next season.

He is seen as the ideal heir to John Terry, who was told his contract will not be renewed.
