Catania transfer chief Pietro Lo Monaco suggests tomorrow’s rivals Inter should sign Alejandro Gomez in exchange for Ricky Alvarez.

“I consider Alvarez a great player who is merely paying for the difficult moment of the whole Inter team,” said the Catania general manager.

“If they don’t want him, then let Inter know that we’ll gladly take him off their hands! We can do an exchange for Gomez.

“The Nerazzurri liked Gomez in January, but talks did not really develop. They could be resumed in June, of course.

“Pablo Barrientos is football and can do whatever he wants with his feet. He has exceptional technique. I have already received requests in Italy and I think he’d do well at Milan.”

In January Catania already did business with the Rossoneri by loaning them striker Maxi Lopez.

“I think they will buy out his contract, but if they don’t then I wouldn’t expect his return to Catania.”
