The Brazilian defender has been out of action since September when a severe dizzy spell was found to be caused by a cavernoma – an abnormal cluster of blood vessels in the brain.

Castan went under the knife on December 3 to remove the cavernoma and was allowed to go home on Sunday.

He announced via Twitter that he’ll be in the stands of the Stadio Olimpico for tomorrow night’s Champions League decider.

The crowd and squad have been showing numerous messages of support for the defender since his condition became public.
