Sampdoria have opened the doors for Antonio Cassano to return to the club – but not as a player!
Cassano, 30, joined Sampdoria in 2007 from Real Madrid, but left the outfit in January 2011 after a falling out with President Riccardo Garrone.
Now at Inter following a stint at Milan, he has indicated in the past that he’d like to end his playing days at Marassi.
However, Doria Vice-President Edoardo Garrone believes that Cassano could be of more use once he hangs up his boots.
“A return to Sampdoria is possible for Cassano, but not as a player,” Garrone noted.
“Cassano has an incredible gift and that is that he sees football like few other people in the world. He has a great ability of understanding whether a player is good or not at whatever age.
“Perhaps in the future, once Cassano retires, he could collaborate with us in trying to find new footballing talents.”
