Parma believe Antonio Cassano’s form is worthy of international recognition ahead of World Cup 2014.

The forward was a regular in the plans of Italy boss Cesare Prandelli, but he hasn’t played for the Azzurri since the Final of Euro 2012.

“Cassano has again wanted to demonstrate to everyone what kind of champion he is,” Gialloblu Coach Roberto Donadoni told Radio 24.

“A World Cup spot? All I can say is that it would be hard to not consider him for selection should he keep playing at his present level.”

Parma President Tommaso Ghirardi added: “I think he does deserve selection when you look at how he is playing, but I don’t think it’s a technical issue…

“Prandelli knows him well and he’ll know what decisions to make at the right time. So far, Cassano has been perfect off the pitch and is getting better on it game by game.

“I hope he continues like this.”

Cassano joined the Stadio Tardini outfit in the summer after spending just one season with Inter.
