“I was an Atalanta player for seven years and I still have my home in Bergamo. Atalanta are a serious and competent club who built a great team year after year, making the most of the talent in their youth academy.
“Gian Piero Gasperini is doing an excellent job, playing beautiful football based on intensity and quality in every department. This team is no longer a surprise package, it is a reality everyone will have to deal with.”
Atalanta are fourth in the Serie A table on 48 points from 25 rounds, already three ahead of fifth-placed Roma, who have already played 26 matches.
