Andrea Caracciolo has let it be known that he plans to save Brescia from relegation this season.

The 29-year-old striker is in double figures for the season with 10 goals to his name in Serie A.

Brescia currently lie second from bottom with six games of the campaign remaining.

Interviewed by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Caracciolo said: "The important thing is that my goals are needed for survival.

"We wanted to get three points against Cagliari and we got one. But I saw that we never gave up and kept fighting until the end.

"A little anger remains because we could have won and there was a debatable decision from the linesman.

"Now we are facing Genoa without Eder, but we have to accept it and move on. Luckily we have a big squad."

Asked to reveal what it takes to survive, Caracciolo said: "Mentality and continuity, which is what we have finally found.

"We need to admit that in the first half of the season, we were quite unlucky. We must always play with a certain spirit. We must have courage and run a lot, until the end."
