Lazio’s Antonio Candreva says reports he clashed with Igli Tare and Miroslav Klose are “completely invented”.
It was reported that the Italian international had been reprimanded by sporting director Tare for being too selfish with the ball, a complaint Klose had raised earlier.
“In recent months I’ve heard and read many thing about my conduct,” Candreva said in a statement.
“So far I’ve preferred to remain silent and concentrate on the pitch while still being stunned by certain journalistic inventions.

“However, the situation has now reached saturation point and silence is no longer an option.
“This morning, in a national newspaper, I read completely invented things that without any motivation caused harm to my person and my image.
“The alleged discussions with sporting director Tare and Miro Klose are completely invented. Unfortunately it’s not the first time that articles of this type have appeared in this newspaper.
“I can guarantee that in every training session, before and in the game I give 100 per cent physically and mentally, with the utmost professionalism and dedication because I always want to give my contribution to the team and to the club, the Coach and the Lazio fans.
“So I’ve decided to instruct my lawyer to take appropriate action to protect my image as a professional and the decent lad I believe I am.”
