Sofyan Amrabat has been one of Morocco’s brightest stars at the World Cup in Qatar and he’ll be hoping to help his team pull off the impossible in their Round of 16 clash with Spain, writes Apollo Heyes.

The 26-year-old Fiorentina midfielder has played every available minute so far at the World Cup, playing a key role for Morocco in the heart of their midfield. Lining up as the defensive midfielder in Morocco’s 4-3-3 system, Amrabat has played a vital role in build up play, defensive filtering and on-pitch leadership.

Amrabat’s work at the World Cup has seen him attract the attention of top clubs around Europe and the Fiorentina man looks destined to make a move in the coming months off the back of the tournament in Qatar.

Morocco have a tall task ahead of them in their Round of 16 clash with Spain and stars like Amrabat and Hakim Ziyech will have to come up with the goods if they want to pull off the upset and progress to the knock-out stages.

With only around 18 months left on Amrabat’s contract with Fiorentina, another positive performance at the World Cup could see him further woo clubs around Europe ahead of the January transfer window.
