Inter are working to agree a new contract with veteran striker Edin Dzeko, who is currently set to leave on a free transfer in the summer.

The 36-year-old Bosnian forward joined the Nerazzurri last year from Roma in a deal worth around €2.8m, penning a two year deal with the Milanese club. Dzeko has proven to be an important option for Inter since his arrival, scoring 26 goals and providing 14 assists across 70 appearances.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter are keen to offer Dzeko a new deal and have come up with a one-year contract for the veteran, who is pushing for a two-year deal. It’s likely that the two parties will meet in the middle, agreeing a one-year contract with an option for a second.

The Bosnian veteran is seemingly keen on the idea of an adventure in the MLS but is willing to wait and see what the near future holds with Inter.
