Andrea Cambiaso admitted that ‘one point in three games’ wasn’t good enough for Juventus after their shock defeat at home to Udinese.

The Bianconeri looked frustrated and wasteful in their Monday evening clash with Gabriele Cioffi’s side, allowing the visitors to escape with all three points after a 25th minute goal from Lautaro Giannetti, earning the home side boos and jeers after the full-time whistle.

The result leaves Juventus seven points behind league leaders Inter, who can further extend their lead as they have a game in hand. The defeat to Udinese, combined with the recent Derby d’Italia loss, has caused many to believe the title race is now over.

Speaking first to DAZN via TMW, Cambiaso first reacted to Juventus’ loss to Udinese.

“No one expected a match and a result like this. We lacked the determination to score goals, then in the second half we were too tense.”

He was asked if the team could suffer following this defeat.

“No, we work for our path and to get to the Champions League. We found ourselves fighting with Inter but we mustn’t panic and continue our path with clarity.”

He was also asked about the differences between playing on the left and ride sides of the pitch.

“Fortunately, I feel comfortable everywhere, I like playing with the ball and I try to give my best in any area of the pitch.”

The 23-year-old spoke about the frustration from the fans at the full-time whistle.

“We are Juventus, burdens and honours, the coach always tells us this. Here a draw seems like a tragedy, and we got one point in three games. We have accustomed people to a certain type of game and result, today it went like that. That doesn’t surprise me.”

Cambiaso commented on if Juventus were suffering from a psychological decline.

“Probably, the coach said there could be a decline. Inter are more experienced, we have to stay united, but I’m sure it will be like this.”

He also discussed the defeat to Udinese to Sky Sports Italia.

“There was a lack of malice up front, especially in the first half, we made too many mistakes. I also had a chance to score, then in the second half we were slow and we didn’t manage to hurt Udinese.”

The 23-year-old didn’t think the team’s issues stem from their draw with Empoli.

“I don’t think so, we always thought about ourselves and made our own journey, we have to go back to being calm and working to overcome this moment, because it can’t be good enough to score one point in three games.”

Finally, Cambiaso discussed what lays ahead for Juventus.

“We have to react, continue to work and do our things, 53 points are a lot and I have faith in my teammates.

“It’s obvious that there is a drop, but they were three different games, where the moments didn’t go in the right direction, like Milik’s sending off against Empoli.

“For the first time I’m dealing with teammates and a coach of different calibre and I’m happy to be here.”
