Juventus found out they had been docked 10 Serie A points just minutes before the game with Empoli, so CFO Francesco Calvo discusses an appeal, Max Allegri and Dusan Vlahovic’s future at the club.

The hearing of the FIGC Federal Court of Appeal was held today for the capital gains case and a verdict came through just before kick-off at the Stadio Castellani.

Juve have been docked 10 points, sending them down from second place to seventh in the Serie A table, albeit with this game in hand.

“Another appeal is a possibility, but we must first read the motivation released over the next few days,” Calvo told DAZN.

The prosecutor had requested an 11-point penalty and this is already significantly less damaging than the original 15-point penalty that had been handed down in January.

“The initial impression is negative, we are not satisfied with this penalisation. We did expect it to be before the match, but now it is too early to comment. We will release a statement soon.”

Meanwhile, Juventus also went out of the Europa League semi-final to Sevilla on Thursday in extra time, so it is the second consecutive campaign with no silverware.

“We are making a continual analysis on the way the season is going, we do that to improve and our objective is to get back to challenging for victory. All our plans for next season are aimed towards victory.”

Calvo was asked if that includes Allegri in his role as coach, especially following recent tension with fans and even goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny over his negative tactics.

“There is unconditional confidence in Allegri. We are building the future along with him, that is not in doubt. We are working with him and Federico Cherubini on the Juve of the future to get back to winning ways. We still have three important games to decide where we will play next season and this will have an effect on the transfer strategy.”

The Juventus Chief Football Officer was also questioned on reports they are prepared to listen to offers for Vlahovic.

“Rumours are not something we can control, but the transfer market hasn’t even opened yet. Dusan is not for sale. We are satisfied with the effort he puts in, although everyone in life can do better.

“This has been a tough, complicated and unpredictable season in which the team deserves huge credit for still fighting to the end for the Europa League and in the League. The players and coach proved they are great men who kept their focus when battling everyone and everything.”
