Milan are said to be in negotiations to extend the contract of their captain Davide Calabria beyond 2025, but are already fielding interest for Jan-Carlo Simic.

The main focus at Milanello has been on the contracts that need to be extended for Olivier Giroud and Mike Maignan, though there are others in the squad who are quietly working on securing their future with the club too.

Calabria is Milan through and through, having joined their youth academy at the age of 11, which is also why he now wears the captain’s armband.

His current deal earns €2m per season and is due to expire in June 2025, but La Gazzetta dello Sport insist his agents have already met with Milan to discuss an extension.

Meanwhile, youth player Simic made a huge impact by scoring on his Serie A debut against Monza and his contract too only runs to June 2025.

The 18-year-old has already attracted interest from abroad and the Rossoneri are eager to lock him down sooner rather than later.
