Cagliari confirm Marko Rog’s anterior knee ligament surgery was successful and he is expected to be out for six months.
The midfielder sustained the rupture of the ACL in his right knee during a 3-2 Serie A defeat to Roma last week.
He went under the knife in Innsbruck, wielded by Professor Christian Fink.
A statement from the club confirms Rog will rest for a few days before beginning the rehabilitation process.
“The timing for a full recovery and return to competitive football is expected to be circa six months.”
