Cagliari goalkeeper Marco Storari faces up to two months on the sidelines, as he’s torn his medial meniscus.

The former Juventus ‘keeper was injured in the first half of last night’s win over Sampdoria, injuring his knee when clearing under pressure from Luis Muriel.

Now the Isolani have confirmed that the shot-stopper will have to go under the knife, meaning an extended time out of action.

“Marco Storari, taken off in the first half of yesterday’s game with injury, was visited today by professor Massimiliano Salvi, who confirmed the first diagnosis,” a statement reads.

“The diagnosis is a lesion of the medial ligament in his right knee. A surgical solution will be necessary.”

Meniscus surgery would usually see physical activity limited for at least four weeks, and it’s likely to be a minimum six weeks until Storari can resume training.
