Former Italy World Cup winner Antonio Cabrini has called for the Azzurri to show positivity against Uruguay today.

Cesare Prandelli’s team will be knocked out of this summer’s tournament in Brazil should they lose to the South Americans in Natal. However, they will progress to the Last 16 should they avoid defeat.

“They must be positive, full stop,” Cabrini, who is now Coach of Italian women’s team, is quoted as saying by Calcio News 24.

“Not just the team, but all the Azzurri fans from Italy to the rest of the world.

“We all need to think that our team will play a good match and qualify for the next round.

“For me, whether we win or draw doesn’t matter, but we need to keep our eyes on the first 10-15 minutes of the match.

“Uruguay have tremendous offensive potential with Suarez and Cavani. Italy must be extremely concentrated.

“They need to be aware that they know how to do it and that they can do it.”
