Italy CT Roberto Mancini is reportedly thinking about giving Gianluigi Buffon a farewell appearance once qualification for Euro 2020 is assured.
Buffon was supposed to bow out during a friendly against Netherlands in Turin last year, but he preferred to retire from international football and let younger goalkeepers stake their claims.
However, Gazzetta dello Sport is running the line that the 41-year-old may join Daniele De Rossi in being handed one final outing with the Azzurri.
Gigi returned to Juventus over the summer after having spent last season at Paris Saint-Germain and is Italy’s record cap holder with 176.
His last appearance came during the disastrous second leg of La Nazionale’s 2018 World Cup playoff with Sweden in November 2017.
