Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon warns Napoli are “a very high-level opponent” ahead of their Champions League match.

The 40-year-old will start at the Stadio San Paolo on Tuesday, his first return to an Italian pitch since leaving Juventus in the summer.

“It will be a delicate match against a very high level opponent,” Buffon told Sky.

“The arrival of [Carlo] Ancelotti means this team now has a certain awareness that it’s not certain they would have had before.”

Buffon was sent off on his last Champions League appearance, so he’s been suspended for the first three games of this campaign.

“I suffered,” the legendary goalkeeper admits.

“I watched on TV in the dressing room, not being able to participate makes me suffer.”
