Italy captain Gianluigi Buffon reiterates that Claudio Marchisio's injury was unforeseeable, whilst discussing the welcome he expects from Turin.

The midfielder's injury appears to be digging a rift in the Italy camp, with Juventus supporters angry at losing one of their star players in the midst of their Champions League campaign.

On from SuperGigi's statement that the accident was fateful, he further explained the episode.

“Claudio's injury is hard to explain, no-one could have predicted it,” Buffon continued.

“For all we know the same thing could have happened if he'd been taking a walk in town with his children.”

Buffon was also asked whether the city of Turin would welcome Coach Antonio Conte, but the goalkeeper was categorical.

“I have no doubts that he'll be well received. A Coach like ours, who played many years with Juventus, won and helped others win in the Bianconeri colours, can be welcomed but in one way, and that's the way it'll be.”
