Gianluigi Buffon has no intention of retiring and could remain at Juventus until June 2021, according to Tuttosport, by which point he’d be 43.

It would be a remarkable turnaround, considering the goalkeeper was let go in the summer of 2018 because he could not be guaranteed regular playing time.

He spent one season at Paris Saint-Germain before returning to Turin, where he so far has three Serie A games under his belt.

Buffon’s performances impressed, despite the fact he is already 41 years old, and it could be enough to warrant a contract extension to June 2021.

According to Tuttosport, the World Cup winner is giving the matter some serious thought and Juve are ready to consider a new deal too.

Buffon was born in January 1978, so will be 42 by the end of this season and would already have turned 43 by the time he retires if the new contract is signed.
